and Events for Ormus Lodge
Background
On
December 8th, 2007, the talisman was activated through the
signing of the charter.
Ormus
Lodge is a Philosophical and Research Lodge of the Ancient
and Primitive Rite of Memphis-Misraim. By philosophical,
we mean esoteric philosophy as taught in the Western Mystery
Traditions, Alchemy, Rosicrucianism, Speculative Freemasonry
and various Hermetic and Gnostic Schools. By research we
mean actual research, both academic and scientific in scope.
For example, historical research, original papers and presentations,
peer reviewed documentation of experiments, etc. By Lodge
we mean a fraternal organization, an interconnected node
of men and women working together in unity.
Ormus
Lodge is both traditionalist and futurist in scope, maintaining
a genuine respect for the ancient teachings while simultaneously
being exploratory and innovative. We view the light of the
gnosis as a continual, dynamic stream, stemming back in
antiquity and flowing ever forward throughout the aeons.
Ormus Lodge is a laboratory of scientific illuminism and
a vehicle of transmission for initiation. The degrees of
Memphis-Misraim have unique expression through the Lodge.
We are part of an authentic tradition whose lineage includes
Gnostic and Apostolic succession, the Rite of Memphis-Misraim
and hot
points (points chauds) empowerments.
Ormus
Lodge is chartered to admit, pass, raise and exalt its Students
into the Mysteries. Its entry portal is the Symbolic Lodge,
which consists of the first three degrees, namely:
·
Apprentice
· Companion
· Master
These
three degrees are what is referred to by “admit”,
“pass”, and “raise” into the Mysteries.
To “exalt” refers to the 4th – 90th degrees,
sometimes called the “higher degrees”. Within
Ormus Lodge, these degrees are conferred in a consecratory
manner, to any Master, as the Spirit moves. The remaining
degrees, 91st through 97th, are essentially administrative
in nature.
Ormus
Lodge is an independent chartered body of Memphis-Misraim.
It does not confer any status or privilege in any other
organization, masonic or otherwise. Tau
Dositheos was issued the charter
through Bishop
T. Allen Greenfield.
Ormus
Lodge does not discriminate based on gender, sexual orientation,
ethnicity or religious affiliation.
